The project contributes to address severe housing exclusion and homelessness, with the objective of promoting independence for homeless individuals or those facing housing insecurity.
The initiative builds on a pilot project (“Housing First” funded by Cisco and ended in 2024, with 85% of supported individuals successfully remained housed) in Rome.
“Innovative Social Housing for autonomy in Italy” foresees Full and Light Support. In line with previous project “Housing First”, Full Support beneficiaries will be helped in identifying a housing solution, will receive limited financial aid for housing rent and will be accompanied in their autonomy pathways through specific interventions on social support (e.g., access to social services and state support), healthcare support (support in reserving medical appointments and accompaniment to visits), autonomy support (help in accessing training and job opportunities tailored to beneficiaries’ skills and aspirations).
Moreover, the new initiative aims to further promote housing access through Light Support, offering limited financial support for those with sufficient economic and social autonomy, but lacking resources for initial housing costs.
